Job Description
Loads and moves materials within or near plant, yard, or work site by performing the following duties in accordance with standards set by Princess House.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The incumbent may be required to perform all or a combination of the following essential functions as determined by business necessity:
· Follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved.
· Communicates with management to relocate products.
· Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
· Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
· Utilizes Warehouse Management System to fill requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line.
· Conveys materials and product to or from receiving or production areas to shipping line or to other designated areas.
· Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence such as size, type, style, color, or product code.
· Secures lifting attachments to materials and conveys load to destination or forklift operators to move load to destination.
· Counts, weighs, and records number of units of materials moved or handled on daily production sheet.
· Attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers.
· Loads trucks with product and/or orders for shipment.
· Fills void within shipment cartons by stuffing with paper or other specified available material assuring restricted movement of product within carton.
· Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together.
· Clamps sections of portable conveyor together or places conveyor sections on blocks or boxes to facilitate movement of materials or products.
· Lifts heavy objects by hand or with power hoist, and cleans work area, machines, and equipment to assist machine operators.
· Makes simple adjustments such as realigning conveyor belts.
· Operates hand truck hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and products.
· Assures work area is clean and orderly by sweeping, picking up trash, dusting. Properly dispose empty cartons, paper and tape rolls, tape, etc.
· Performs the duties of at least one other position as directed by supervisor
