Job Description
Food Rescue Coordinators (Shelf-Stable & Perishable)
Pay: $20–$22 per hour
Schedule: Full-time | 1-hour unpaid lunch break
Status: Temp-to-Perm
Join a mission-driven organization focused on reducing food waste and supporting community food programs! We’re hiring two Food Rescue Coordinators — one for Shelf-Stable operations and one for Perishable goods. Both roles are hands-on leadership positions that involve managing volunteers, coordinating food inventory, and ensuring the safe and efficient distribution of food to partner agencies.
Role Overviews
Shelf-Stable Coordinator
Responsible for overseeing the collection, organization, and distribution of non-perishable items such as canned goods, dry products, and packaged foods. This role focuses on maintaining inventory accuracy, ensuring quality control, and supporting efficient sorting and packing processes in a warehouse environment.
Perishable Coordinator
Oversees the intake, storage, and distribution of fresh and frozen foods, including produce, dairy, and meat products. This position requires frequent movement in and out of refrigerated and freezer environments, monitoring product freshness, and maintaining proper food safety standards to ensure all perishable donations remain in top condition.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership experience is a PLUS
Engage positively with volunteers, donors, and community partners
Perform hands-on warehouse, sorting, and loading tasks
Delegate tasks and ensure smooth daily operations
Troubleshoot and adapt in a fast-paced environment
Safely operate forklifts and electric pallet jacks
Maintain accurate records and uphold food safety procedures
What We’re Looking For
Proven leadership and communication skills
Reliable, organized, and comfortable with physical work
Forklift and electric pallet jack experience required
Experience in warehouse, logistics, or food handling preferred
(Perishable role) Ability to work in cold and freezer environments
Bilingual skills a plus (English/Spanish preferred)
