Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Tends fabricating machines such as cutoff saws, shears, lasers, spotwelders, brakes, presses, and punches, that cut, shape, and bend metal plates and sheets by performing the following duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIRILITIES Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements. Sets up machine and runs parts. Observes machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction. Measures workpiece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operation. Removes burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from workpiece. Spot welds workpieces.
